We help children recovering from the effects of sexual abuse.

Children who have been sexually abused may exhibit a variety of behavioral and emotional reactions. For example, a child who has experienced sexual abuse may display withdrawn behavior, have nightmares or other sleeping difficulties, have angry outbursts, and experience anxiety and depression. These children may also not want to be left alone with certain individuals.

Child Sexual Abuse

The effects of child sexual abuse are devastating and can have a long-term impact as the child grows into adulthood. At The Dragonfly House Children’s Advocacy Center, we advocate for victims of child sexual abuse and provide all the services these children need under one safe, neutral roof during an ongoing investigation. These services include mental health support, forensic interviews, coordinated case management, medical evaluations, and more.

As a children’s advocacy center, we know how stressful and difficult the process can be for children and their families after an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse opens up. Before children’s advocacy centers were established, children had to go to multiple agencies and places to get the services they needed, reliving the trauma over and over again. Our children’s advocacy center makes it possible for children to receive these services in one place, helping them cope and recover in an environment designed just for them.

We couldn’t do what we do without the generous donations of our donors and the volunteers who give their time. If you would like to donate to our cause or join our expansive network of volunteers, reach out to us today.
