336-753-6155 X103
Lydia Nance holds a BA in Psychology from Pfeiffer University and a Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She has specialized training in Play Therapy and EMDR.
Lydia served as a contract mental health therapist for The Dragonfly House in Davidson County for 10 years before becoming an employee in 2023. In 2024, she took on the role of Mental Health Team Lead. Her duties include managing referrals from inside and outside the agency, promoting the mental health program, coordinating with the multidisciplinary team, and monitoring the quantity and quality of clinical services. Lydia provides mental health assessments and individualized trauma-focused treatment using a client-centered approach through play therapy and EMDR modalities. While she treats children, teens, and caregivers, her specialty is working with the youngest clients, ages 3-10.
Lydia is driven by a passion to help children and caregivers become resilient. She finds it humbling to walk alongside clients from crisis to overcoming the effects of traumatic experiences. Each client and story is unique, and Lydia is dedicated to providing a safe space for children to express their fears, sadness, anger, and joy through play. This process strengthens her resolve to continually learn from their experiences and to support them as they process trauma in their own creative ways.
When not at work, Lydia enjoys spending time with her husband and five children, along with their three dogs, on their farm. She is also very involved with her church.
